«It is a nice experience to host partners but on the other hand you are afraid of doing something wrong, every country is different, has different culture. Something you see positive and nice for you could be wrong for your partners. But Comenius is a programme which teaches us to accept all cultures, help us to recognise differences.

It is our third project. I am a coordinator in this and previous projects. You may know people don't like to work more than it is needed. But there is lot to do all the time. It is not very easy to be a coordinator.

I must be ready to communicate with partners all the time and our items need lots of attention , it's difficult to say how much time but a lot.»

Apresentação aos encarregados de educação

A Junta de Freguesia de Carvide foi o local escolhido pelas professoras Lurdes Penela e Fernanda Dinis para apresentarem os resultados do projeto até à data e lançarem novos desafios aos pais e encarregados de educação dos alunos das escolas de Carvide e Outeiro da Fonte. 

Depois de um contacto mais direto com a realidade escolar europeia, os pais mostraram-se recetivos e desejosos de receber os professores dos outros países participantes, estando o quarto encontro agendado para fevereiro de 2013, em Portugal.

«My feelings about the Comenius project are that it is a very positive way to learn more about other cultures. This is important for the children at school but is just as important for the teachers involved. It is an excellent opportunity for teachers to take part in experiences they wouldn’t normally be able to get.

It is not the first project that I have been involved with. In 2000, I began a project but was not able to complete it as I was unable to attend meetings and no one else in my school wanted to. Since then I have wanted to try again but did not feel that other teachers would be very interested. My role in the English team is leading the project for us. At first I was the only person working on it but now we have a team of five people involved.

The difficulties I find in implementing the project are in trying to involve as many teachers and students as possible and trying to create interest and awareness of the benefits of taking part. Teachers in England feel under a great deal of pressure. Also, schools in England don’t attach the same importance to learning other languages so it can be more difficult for us to show that this is important. I think one of the things I have found difficult is involving the whole school community including parents. After returning from Hungary, I prepared a meeting for parents and invited everyone to come. Not many people did. I will need to try harder to make them more interested and enthusiastic.

We are looking forward to hosting the visit from our partners although we realise that there is a lot of pressure to make sure the meeting is as successful as the ones we have been to so far. Also the fact that children will be visiting England makes things slightly more complicated.

I hope that during the project I will have made friendships that will last beyond the time of the project and that I will have a different view of things because of my experiences. I know that Peter and Mary have found the chance to travel and meet people particularly valuable.

In terms of time spent working on activities, I’m not really sure how much that is. I don’t spend as much time as I would like to and usually only focus on things when they need to be done.»

O Milagre das Rosas

Um dos objetivos do Projeto Comenius é a publicação de um livro com uma estória traduzida nas cinco línguas, escrita e ilustrada pelos alunos envolvidos.

A escolha das personagens foi feita pelos professores e pretendia-se que fosse um dos símbolos do país. O Reino Unido escolheu Robin Hood, a Tuquia Keloğlan, a Polónia Halabala, a Hungria Eye Shepherd e Portugal a Rainha Santa Isabel.

O Milagre das Rosas foi o episódio escolhido para dar a conhecer a Rainha Santa Isabel aos parceiros do Projeto. As ilustrações presentes foram realizadas pelos alunos das escolas do Primeiro Ciclo do Ensino Básico de Carvide e Outeiro da Fonte.

Impressões sobre o projeto - Hungary

«We felt  really fine for hosting other countries, It was a really great experience for us :) It is a big honour for my small school. And for my students  it’s a big motivation to learn English harder :) I felt we were like a big family. This is our third Comenius project and I’m the contact person and coordinator of the project in our school. In our school usually my colleagues can’t speak English, so I’m always their interpreter, too.

- Only difficulty is that  we always have many things to do in our school, so sometimes it is difficult to ask for my colleagues help. But during the Hungarian meeting they helped me a lot. And now they are helping a lot to fulfill our tasks.
- Sometimes some colleagues think that because they can’t speak English, they can’t help me. 
I can’t tell exactly how many time I spend working in the project, I deal with it every week.
Before the Hungarian meeting I dealt with organizing the meeting as much as I could. We had several teachers’ meetings and we tried to share the tasks. 
During two years we always work a lot. I always check the different tasks for the different month and share the tasks with my colleagues.
In my opinion it is worth taking part in Comenius projects because we and our students can make friends from different parts of Europe. Sometimes it’s difficult to do everything, but it is worth :) »

Atividades realizadas no terceiro encontro - Hungria

Na semana passada na Hungria várias foram as atividades a que os professores puderam assistir e fazer parte. Entre aulas de inglês na escola local, trabalhos com lã e uma receção com as danças típicas dos países envolvidos no projeto, a Hungria foi palco do terceiro encontro do Projeto Comenius, propiciando uma experiência rica em conhecimento.

Terceiro encontro Comenius - Hungria



O terceiro encontro do projeto Comenius realizou-se na Hungria. De 15 a 21 de outubro, as atividades variaram consoante os costumes típicos do país, permitindo conhecer e viver segundo os costumes húngaros durante a estadia.

Segundo encontro Comenius - Polónia


Ainda no ano letivo 2011/2012, realizou-se o segundo encontro de professores de 15 a 20 de abril, na Escola Primária nº 7, em Knurów, na Polónia. A visita estendeu-se à histórica cidade de Cracóvia, às minas de carvão de Guido, em Zabrze e a Gliwice.

Impressões sobre o projeto - Turkey

«This is my second experience in Comenius Projects. I worked as a contact person in another project ,which belonged to a Kindergarden, in 2010. But, in that project everything was easier for me since the teachers of Kindergarden were organizing and preparing all activities .So I was just helping them about translation and providing communication among partners. It was a great luck and opportunity for me to be involved in that project, because after that project, I decided to apply for my own school .Not only at the application stage, but also at the time of hosting our partners and implemantation of activities, the experiences I got and observations I made during mobilities of the first project helped me a lot. I could explain the aims of this kind of projects to my colleagues in my school and details about what to do, how to do, when to do and why to do. Morover, I could have a chance to find  two  partners of our project by way of this first project.

As Turkish team, we are 8 people, 2 management staff and 6 teachers  from different fields-.I take part as a contact person and coordinator of my team. I follow the work programme and remind my head teacher the time, the content of activities and he distrubutes the task for each activity. I share the information I get from our partners, leads the project meetings at our institution and help my colleagues whenever or wherever they need me.
We are not faced with big problems during implemantation of our project. As I mentioned above, we are in different fields and each teacher is responsible for the activities which belong to her field and the rest of the team helps her. It sometimes become difficult to do the tasks on time since our school is the biggest one in our town, so we are charged  in many extra activities. This causes us to delay some activities for a few days.
I normally spend 1 hour for project every day, but 2 weeks before the mobilities and on the busy days of activities, it becomes 3-4 hours a day. I generally stay at school after my classes and sometimes work at home at night.

The first meeting was held in Turkey and it was a pleasure for us to host the representatives of participating institutions. Imagine!!!!!!25 people who have never met before, from 5 different European countries came together. It was a wonderful feeling to host them, try to know them closer, to see them get on well with eachothers. To tell the truth, I was very excited and little bit anxious about failing to satisfy our partners  on the first day of the meeting. To explain oneself is difficult, but it becomes more complex and difficult when you express yourself in another language. Morover, different countries does not only mean different languages, it also means different cultures. I was anxious to do something rude unconsciously or to say something wrong. After the first day, everything was better. Everybody was warm, smiling and very kind. We were very glad to present different aspects of our country and our people. We could have a chance to correct some false information that people used to have about our structure and life styles. -I hope we managed :)-


In my oppinion, the strongest side of the projects of LLP is to remind us that although many differences in many aspects as language, culture, socio-economic structure, all people in the world can get on well with eachother as far as they respect all these differences, break down the prejudices, prioritise humanity and try to meet  at this common ground. Thanks to European Commision and each NA to give us a chance to remember and remind our students what our priority should be in life
Finally, It is a team work and the success of the project depends on the team spirit. I feel very lucky myself , because all participants of this project is full of this spirit and trying to do their best. First and for most, we are not only a big team from 5 different countries, we are just like a big European Family.»

Primeiro encontro Comenius - Turquia



O primeiro encontro de professores ocorreu de 09 a 14 de outubro de 2011, em Izmir, na Turquia, onde os representantes dos cinco países envolvidos além de contactarem com o sistema educativo turco foram recebidos pelas autoridades locais e puderam conhecer algum do vasto património histórico e cultural do país anfitrião.

Carvide pela Europa



No ano letivo 2011/2012 algumas escolas do 1.º Ciclo do Agrupamento Rainha Santa Isabel participaram, pela primeira vez, no projeto europeu “Lifelong Learning Programme Comenius” cuja concretização se prolonga no presente ano letivo.
O projeto cujo nome é “Once upon a time” envolve a Turquia, Polónia, Hungria, Portugal e Inglaterra e terá como resultado final a publicação de um conto comum, escrito nas cinco línguas, onde os heróis serão personagens dos países envolvidos. A personagem portuguesa é a Rainha Santa Isabel.

As escolas do 1.º CEB de Carvide e Outeiro da Fonte fazem parte deste projeto que visa promover nos alunos o conhecimento de outras culturas, respeitando diferenças e enriquecendo a sua formação enquanto cidadãos da Europa; estimular a sua participação ativa e interventiva na defesa dos princípios de tolerância entre todos, independentemente da raça, religião ou língua.

Entre outros objetivos, ainda se pretende propiciar atividades que promovam a participação de todos os membros da comunidade educativa e dar a conhecer aos professores realidades educativas diferentes das suas, permitindo-lhes adquirir novos métodos e técnicas pedagógicas.

O projeto Comenius

Centro Novas Oportunidades

O Projeto Comenius destina-se ao ensino pré-escolar e escolar até ao final do ensino secundário e tem como principais objetivos sensibilizar para a diversidade europeia e ajudar na aquisição de aptidões e competências pessoais.

Neste caso específico envolve docentes de cinco países diferentes: Portugal, Reino Unido, Hungria, Polónia e Turquia, sendo que estão previstas viagens a todos eles, no sentido de conseguir uma vivência única no seio da cultura dos diferentes países.

O título do projeto é Once Upon a Time uma vez que o seu objetivo principal  é a identificação e partilha da diversidade cultural através de um elo comum, que é o contar estórias.


Ao longo do projeto, procurar-se-á desenvolver, tanto nas crianças como nos adultos, o interesse e a compreensão pela cultura, língua, história e estilos de vida dos países envolvidos no projeto.

Através deste, pretende-se modificar esteriótipos e desincentivar atos  discriminatórios, promovendo uma maior compreensão da identidade europeia. As crianças serão incentivadas a refletir sobre as suas expetativas e desejos para o futuro e estes serão comunicados à Comissão Europeia.
Em cada escola irão ser elaboradas Árvores de Expetativas, onde serão expostos os desejos coletivos das crianças envolvidas.

Para todos os envolvidos, a lógica subjacente ao projeto assenta no desenvolvimento da curiosidade, da compreensão e do gosto por aprender.
